Mexican 7-Layer Dip

Good things happen when you make this dip!! Friends come together, laughter erupts, stories are shared, and most of all mouths get fed! Serve with tortilla chips and see what happens 🙂

Ingredients:
2 cans refried beans
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayo
1 packet taco seasoning mix
1 ripe avocado, peeled, pitted and diced
Juice from 1/2 fresh lime
1 Tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped
1 can diced green chilies, drained
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 1/2 cup fresh tomato, diced
2 green onions, diced

Directions:

  • On a large serving platter, evenly spread both cans of refried beans.
  • In a bowl, mix together avocado, lime juice and cilantro using a fork.
  • Spread avocado mixture evenly over beans on platter.
  • Evenly sprinkle green chilies on top of avocado mixture.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayo and taco seasoning mix until well combined.
  • Carefully spread sour cream mixture on top of chilies on platter.
  • Evenly sprinkle shredded cheese over sour cream mixture on platter.
  • Next sprinkle green onions on top of cheese.
  • Finally sprinkle tomato on top of onions.
  • Chill 1 hour prior to serving, allowing flavors to combine.
  • Serve with tortilla chips

  1. I just made this to take to a party and wow, what a hit! The host actually asked me if he could scrape the dish clean before I left because he didn’t want to waste a bit. I will be making this one again.

  2. I absolutely love this dip! It is a guaranteed hit at parties and is very easy to make. The flavours combine together so well that you just have to keep going back for more. Well worth a try if you love Mexican food.
